The State of the Union (Movement)
UnionMaps, by WISERD , has produced this interactive map that shows union membership levels and the coverage of collective bargaining agreements across 406 local authority areas in Britain. While the figures/data doesn’t seem to go past 2022 it is still a useful tool to look at, especially when thinking about how we can promote trade unionism in North Staffordshire. ‘UnionMaps’ provides data based upon area of residence for the following measures: Union density: The percentage of employees who are a trade union member. Union presence: The percentage of employees who are a trade union member or who are employed at a workplace where others are members. Union coverage: The percentage of employees who report that pay and conditions are agreed in negotiations between their employer and a trade union.
